M.F.K. Fisher's Kitchen Table
H 30.75" L 70 " W 42"
Pine, Poplar, Basswood, Oil Paint
This piece, completed in 1999, is one in my series called "Famous Women's Furniture." It is dedicated to the late M.F.K. Fisher, who wrote extensively on the subject of food and eating. Around the perimeter are the titles of her principal books in that field: How to Cook a Wolf, A Cordial Water, Serve It Forth, An Alphabet for Gourmets, With Bold Knife and Fork and Consider the Oyster. On the top is a quotation from Alphabet.
